We are currently seeking a Communications Editor to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.

•Provide all writing and project management support as described below.
•Conceptualize, develop, plan, promote, execute and evaluate various internal communications efforts.
•Lead all writing efforts in support of internal communications initiatives, including:
oDevelopment of messaging for leadership to staff
oDrafting and design of articles and blogs for posting on myNCI intranet, NCI Communications Connector newsletter, and NCI Weekly Digest newsletter.
oDevelopment/revision of content for myNCI web pages
oDevelopment of communication and promotion plans
oPreparation of evaluation reports and slide presentations
oDevelopment of event materials related to NCI special events, such as the NCI Director’s Awards, NCI Blood Drive, Take Your Child to Work Day, and the Combined Federal Campaign, and others throughout the year
oDigital signage at NCI Shady Grove and Building 31
•Analyze and make recommendations for future internal communications efforts.
•Provide broad project management support for all areas in the Internal Communications Branch and as requested for OCPL:
oEstablish program plans, task lists, timelines and final reports for the various areas of the Internal Communications Branch, including:
myNCI Intranet site and NCI Weekly Digest newsletter
NCI Communications Connector newsletter
•Organize and lead meetings with OCPL and NCI staff related to various internal com-munications efforts, including soliciting agenda items, distributing agenda to participants, taking notes and distributing notes to participants.
•Assist events coordinator, as needed, with special events throughout the year, including materials development, promotion, logistics, communication with NCI staff.
•Prepare SOPs, templates, work products and documents related to various activities.
•Provide regular status updates and reports to OCPL OPA and NCI teams
•Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
•Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in communications and/or marketing.
•Knowledge and understanding of the field of communications and best practices.
•Experience in planning and supporting communications activities.
•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in interpersonal and formal settings, including oral and written communication.
•Ability to work and interact with individuals at various levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
•Project management skills and ability to set priorities, develop work plans, and monitor progress.
•Knowledge and understanding of operational planning for an organization.
•Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects; turn around projects quickly, and meet deadlines.
•Skill in monitoring relevant issues that may impact the organization and analyze and evaluate all available information and apply seasoned judgment to recommend a plan of action.
•Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
•Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
