Job Description:
This is an opportunity is for a Drawing Checker position in the Spacecraft Engineering Design group at JPL, which engages in the engineering and design of advanced spacecraft and robotic mechanisms for exploration of the solar system.
Some Challenge’s You’ll Tackle: 
•Check engineering drawings to institutional and ASME drawing standards. 
•Perform tolerance analysis and check fit form and function on complex piece parts and assemblies. 
•Work with world-class engineers and designers in a highly collaborative environment. 
•Interface with space science experts, analysts, manufacturing engineers, and project staff.

Required Skills:
•A High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience in checking engineering drawings to ASME standards. 
•A minimum of 5 years of experience performing tolerance analysis. 
•Experience and knowledge in the following areas: 
-Experience checking drawings digitally using PDF editing tools. 
-Checking engineering drawings to the ASME Y14.100-2013 standard. 
-Complete knowledge of ASME Y14.5-2009 for complete definition of part geometry, datum reference systems and interchangeability. 
-Engineering CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools such as Siemens NX, CATIA or Creo. 
-Aerospace material selection and fabrication processes o PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools such as Teamcenter, Enovia or Windchill. 
-Ability to mentor and teach designers tolerance applications. 
-Configuration management, change control and part number identification.

Desired Skills:
Experience with spacecraft or flight hardware a plus
