Roles and responsibilities

18 month contract position
W2 with full benefits

Job Description:
-Handling the day-to-day operations of the tool crib to include checking out drills, reamers, taps, hand tools etc. with customer focused can do attitude 
-Maintain a very clean and organized tool-crib 
-Ordering, receiving, stocking of consumable and durable goods used in the machine shop and sheet metal group. 
-Electronically monitor calibration cycles using Crib-Master software to assure precision tools are in calibration. 
-Perform cycle counts to maintain accuracy of stock and prevent stock-outs 
-Developing long term relationships with tooling vendors with goals of discounted and expedient tooling purchases and deliveries 
-Researching and understanding new tooling technologies and how they can be utilized at JPL 
-Stocking and maintaining automated vending machines with high turn around items 

Required Skills:
-Typically requires a High School diploma with 3 years of general work experience; tool-crib and machine shop related experience preferred 
-Must have moderate understanding, or experience in the following areas: strong overall knowledge of hand tools and their functions; knowledge of precision measuring tools to include micrometers, calipers, etc. and cutting tools such as drills, end mills, taps, etc. 
-Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc. 
-Strong people skills. 
-Detail oriented, clean and organized 
-Able to multi-task and handle fast-paced high demand environment

Desired Skills:
-Familiar with Crib-Master software 
-Strong inventory control experience 
-APICS/CPIM, SIX SIGMA or other inventory control or continuous improvement educational classes
