Earth Science Applications and Remote Sensing Mission Support for the Western Water Applications Office: Scope of work includes project planning and support, formulation, and stakeholder engagement activities. Will supporting modeling and analysis of value of Earth science information on WWAO community. May also include coordination activities to evaluate broader uses of WWAO applications, including linkages with on-going and future Earth science missions.
Remote Sensing Mission Support for ECOSTRESS Applications: Scope of work includes support of ECOSTRESS Applications Lead to implement program, including discussions with potential ECOSTRESS partners and proposal writing. Includes provision of web solutions, such as contet development, management and publishing, graphics, and other media. Includes developing use of ECOSTRESS data products for water resources and agricultural use case scenarios, or other applied areas (such as public, environmental health, ecological forecasting).
Remote Sensing Mission Support for GRACE-FO.: Scope includes modeling and analysis support to develop new and update existing indices, metrics, plots, graphics, for regular reporting, media requests, science activities, and other requests from or for JPL management; engagement with stakeholders and users in coordination with GRACE-FO Project Scientist and Applications Team.
-M.S. level training in environmental science/engineering or related discipline, with high proficiency in using GIS software.
-Experience applying GIS software and developing scripts to support a variety of analyses, including spatial statistics, time series analysis, modeling/characterization of terrestrial ecosystems using remote sensing datasets.
-Familiarity/proficiency in R, Python, Matlab, Java.
-Experience in applying socioeconomic and economic methodologies to understand environmental systems or services.
-Ability/experience in web applications development and management.
-Experience interfacing with research and applied research communities.
-Demonstrated aptitude to further the benefits of Earth science information in society.
