Job Description:
This position will support the office manager and other team members in development and expansion of the Information Resource Center (IRC) and the Aerospace Nuclear Safety Engineering (ANSE) Data Center collections, within the Launch Approval Engineering (LAE) Office at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Job duties include, but may not be limited to, creating cataloging records for each document collected, maintaining the data structures in the IRC and ANSE Data Center, updating associated web pages, and scanning/digitizing documents when required. Work is fairly independent after initial training, with a minimum of detailed supervision and guidance. Individual will perform document review, document scanning, and data entry requiring basic knowledge of classification structure in use and an understanding of the procedures related to the assigned work. Computers will be used in performance of the tasks, requiring working knowledge of certain office relatively standard software programs. Approximately ½ day training will be provided upon start.

Required Skills:
• High School diploma with a minimum of 3-6 years of related experience; Associate’s degree with 1 year of related experience; or related applicable training. 
•Strong organizational, computer and interpersonal skills. 
•Strong planning and scheduling skills. 
•Strong technical document reading and comprehension skills. 
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to productively work in a team environment 
•Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and complete tasks in a dynamic multi-tasking environment •Motivated, attentive listener who is capable and interested in quickly acquiring new skills 
•Ability to evaluate situations and apply good judgment in any necessary resolution. 
•Strong written and oral communication skills. 
•Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and provide excellent customer service. 
•Must exercise proper discretion when handling assignments of a discreet nature and when dealing with sensitive material. 
•Must be a team player. 
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Desired Skills:
•Bachelor degree in English, Graphic Design, or degree in technical disciplines. 
•Knowledge of database systems and user interface design 
•Basic knowledge of HTML, and CSS 
•Strong analytical skills 
•Knowledge of library science and space exploration history 
•Interest in space technology related information
