Job Description:
As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will perform high-value Software Assurance Engineering; developing or acquiring mission critical software. You will provide projects with an integrated approach to Software Quality, Reliability, and Safety Engineering, with the goal of lowering software risk throughout the life cycle by working with the Supervisor and Leads to improve the Software Assurance infrastructure: the processes, systems, and tools that support existing functions and enable new ones. You will seek out new tools and techniques that improve the performance of Software Quality, Reliability, and Safety Engineering, and that enable better risk analysis and detection of defects early in the project life cycle and explore promising new areas of software assurance, including model-based assurance, cybersecurity, static code analysis, and assurance of software embedded in ASICs and FPGAs. 

Required Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering or similar technical discipline with typically a minimum of 6 years of related experience, Master’s degree in similar disciplines with 4 years of related experience, or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 2 years of related experience that along with the following: requirements analysis, design, coding, configuration management, integration and testing. 
•Experience in programming in the C, C++, or Java programming languages in a UNIX/Linux or real-time (e.g. VxWorks) operating system environment. 
•Ability to learn technical knowledge quickly and independently. 
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.

Desired Skills:
•Cybersecurity and Information Assurance Experience 
•Experience with software engineering tools such as Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), compilers, static analyzers, Magic Draw, UML/SysML, GIT, and JIRA. 
•Experience with modern systems and software development processes, as described in the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI). 
•Python is strongly preferred. 
•The capability to analyze modern systems and software requirements, architecture, and test procedures and results. 
•Knowledge of NASA Software Assurance Standards, JPL software management standards, Software Development Requirements, Flight Project Practices, and Design Principles. 
•Previous experience with flight projects 
•Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
