Job Description:
Provide support services to the Protective Services Division, Electronic Security Group and will report to the Electronic Security Group Supervisor. Assist technical staff on security systems including intrusion detection, access control, and Laboratory emergency paging system. Install and test security systems and other security related equipment in new and existing JPL facilities. Install and maintain moderately complex security equipment and electronic systems including copper wire and fiber optic interfaces for CCTV and Access control remote and head end equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and determines if the equipment must be sent off-site for repair. Install cables, conduits and other electrical equipment. Applies concepts of electronics to interpret and apply electrical diagrams, blueprints and schematics. Creates and updates diagrams, schematics, and plans to reflect current state. Works closely with the Alarm Monitoring personnel who staff the Emergency Communications Center (ECC). Performs moderately complex job functions and activities within moderate scope. General supervision requiring general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new assignments. Works on moderately difficult assignments; resolves issues and makes recommendations; may refer complex issues to higher levels. 

Required Skills:
-Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
-Typically requires a High School diploma with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; Associates degree with a minimum of 1 year of related experience; related required training.
-Solid understanding on general job aspects of installation and maintenance of electronic devices.
-Broad understanding of assessing and troubleshooting equipment problems, repairing them if possible, or determining equipment must be sent off-site for repair.
-Thorough understanding of installing cable runs, cable splice/terminations, and connecting equipment to an existing electronic infrastructure and applies knowledge and skills in this area.  

Desired Skills:
-Strong MS Office computer skills including Word and Excel and familiarity with Visio, Paint, or CAD software applications.
