Job Description:
•Will be a member in the Technical Inventory Management (TIM) group in Section 356M and will report to the TIM Group Supervisor. 
•Will work with the TIM process improvement and the Flight Hardware Logistics Program (FHLP) lead to design and implement new process improvements and information technology solutions. 
•Will help bridge the gap between TIM daily business operations and engineering / IT groups at JPL to yield the best business solutions. 
•Will work with JPL software developers and help coordinate any projects the group is implementing. 
•Will support TIM and FHLP teams with hardware, equipment and facilities logistics in support of fabrication, assembly, test, launch and project closeout operations. 
•Will perform moderately complex hardware search and disposition activities as well as analyze and consolidate engineering hardware reutilizations data and will report findings to other engineers. 
•Will be provided with hands-on work experience in the application of conceptual and theoretic curriculum within Engineering and Supply Chain Management. 
•Will perform complex analysis of existing processes and recommend improvements. 
•Will review engineering plans and product specifications to determine raw material requirements to support manufacturing schedules. 
•Will compile data for work-in-progress planning/monitoring and will prepare work orders for production or purchase requests based on production schedules. 
•Will use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to complete complex assignments.
•Will utilize Oracle ERP system to help develop TIM processes. 
•Will exercise judgment in applying applicable policies, procedures and practices to determine work methods and deliver results. 
•Will maintain and update logistics and material management plans, policies and procedures. 
•Will work with full time employees who: synthesize customer needs and requirements into system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. 
•Will work on day-to-day assignments under general supervision; typically receiving general or detailed instructions on new assignments.

Required Skills:
•Requires an Associate Degree with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience. 
•Solid understanding of general job aspects of inventory receiving, stocking, and distribution process. 
•Broad understanding of inventory control processes and systems including tracking of material and physical inventory techniques. 
•Good computer skills related to inventory system data entry and reporting. 
•Excellent customer service skills and able to work and communicate effectively with technicians, engineers, and scientists as well as business and logistics personnel. 
•Understanding of inventory systems and experience in performing all transaction types relating to inventory receipts and distributions. 
•Knowledge and experience with MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

Desired Skills:
•3 years electronics inventory experience using the Oracle Inventory System or similar Inventory System and performing receiving and issuance transaction types including for Bills of Material and work in Process. 
•Understanding of applicable policies, procedures, and practices in inventory management including physical inventory and cycle counting. 
•Knowledge of an electronic fabrication inventory and the ability to work independently with minimal training and guidance. 
•Experience in sorting, counting, checking received goods, raw materials, finished or semi-finished parts and sub-assemblies. 
•Experience using excel. 
•Experience and ability to perform physical activities (50 pounds), including moving/lifting of raw metal.
