Job Description:
The Engineering Technician III will be responsible for: 
• Working closely with the Maintenance Team assisting in any repairs to CNC or conventional equipment 
• Working closely with the Maintenance Team on all preventative maintenance requirements for CNC and conventional machinery listed as class 3400 equipment 
• Working closely with the Machine Shop Group Supervisor and the Maintenance Team assisting in any Preventive Maintenance (PM) requirements to the above machines including auditing and updating the Redbooks, (PM schedules), and the lock out/tag out procedures and all Class 3400 maintenance requirements, assisting in any administrative duties related to ordering parts and/or scheduling outside technicians 
• Supporting the process of locating, evaluating, and establishing new vendors as a laboratory resource for machine repair and maintenance 
• Use Crib-Master software to schedule PMs and calibration of machines 
• Acting as Contract Technical Manager collaborating with Acquisition and Subcontractors to schedule repairs or purchase parts 
• Performs moderately complex technical functions related to the setup, test, monitoring, repair and/or modification of mechanical, electronic or electro-mechanical systems environmental systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment 
• Works from documentation, including diagrams, schematics, notes, prints, or layouts, which requires minimal interpretation, to perform technical support tasks 
• Adhering to strict safety, institutional, OSHA, federal, state and local guidelines.

Required Skills:
• Typically requires a High School diploma with a minimum of 8 years of related experience or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience or a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1 years’ experience 
• Must have extensive understanding, technical expertise and experience in the following areas: CNC machine diagnosis and repair, conventional machinery repair, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems 
• Must be very detail oriented and well documented on all machinery PMs and repairs, these will be audited periodically 
• Must have good computer skills and experienced in Excel, Word… 
• Required to work 5/40 or 9/80 schedule as needed, work with the team, get along well and follow directions well, adhere to all policies and guidelines, work independently in a safe, neat and organized manner 

Desired Skills:
• 15 years experience working as maintenance technician on CNC and conventional equipment 
• Experience trouble-shooting and repairing CNC machine brands such as Makino, Mitsui Seiki. Matsuura, Mitsubishi, Mori Seiki, FADAL 
• Experience in Crib-Master software for PM and calibration schedules 
• Experience creating and maintaining a detailed PM schedule which meets all machine requirements
