Job Description:
This unique opportunity is part of the Mechanical Systems Engineering, Fabrication and Test Division which engages in research, technology development, and the creation of advanced mechanical, thermal, propulsion, and electronic packaging systems with expertise that spans the full breath of mechanical disciplines and is applied from architectural concept development through operations.

Will be working for JPL's Propulsion, Thermal and Materials Engineering Section which provides leadership and unique world-class expertise in a wide range of technologies and technical discipline areas of chemical and electrical propulsion, thermal, materials, contamination control, analytical chemistry, geochemical instruments, physics-based modeling, and multiphase flow. Will be a member of the Electric Propulsion Group and will report to the Group Supervisor. 

Primary responsibility will be to provide support to the JPL lead in the development, testing, and qualification of electric thrusters (Hall, Ion, and electrospray) for NASA missions. Will develop laboratory test plans and procedures, improve existing or implement new plasma diagnostics and analysis techniques, present at test readiness reviews, perform and monitor testing, and write test reports. Will help support and maintain Electric Propulsion test facilities and diagnostics. Will support data analysis and laboratory experiments to simulate the surfaces of ocean worlds, such as Europa and Enceladus.

Required Skills:
•B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics with a minimum of 0 years of experience.
•Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA.
•Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States
