Lead Windows Server Systems Administrator
DOJ/ATR/Leidos – Washington, DC
8.5month-1year contract position
W2 with full benefits
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Security Clearance

Job Description:
•Lead the SOA team in managing and maintaining all servers (Windows and Linux) and storage (initially NetApp) located in the customer data centers; coordinate team activities and work directly with customers to ensure their needs are met
•Perform hands-on Windows Server Administration tasks, and guide more junior team members in the performance of these tasks  
•Work in a rapid paced environment, work independently, and lead other team members in doing the same
•Maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with other administrators, customers and engineers
•Set up administrator and service accounts, tune system performance, install system wide software
•Interact with users and evaluate vendor products
•Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, with the goal of improving and increasingly automating operations
•Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
•Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and maintain standard operating procedures
•Apply security settings and other commercial security best practices
•Provide coaching and review the work of lower level technical staff
•Provide support on a M-F business hours schedule; also responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations

Required Skills:
•Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 9 years of overall related experience with a Windows server environment; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree
•Team leadership and mentoring experience
•Customer interface experience
•Excellent understanding of Windows Servers in design, configuration and the administration of Windows 2008r2 and 2012
•Working knowledge of Linux servers
•Working knowledge of NetApp and other storage devices
•Remote Desktop Services (Login and Security), including Citrix
•PowerShell Scripting experience
•Completing registry backups and modifications
•Group Policy Management (GPO) and application of Local Security Policies
•PIV authentication
•Use of Windows Task Scheduler
•Managing Active Directory/ADFS and DFS
•System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration
•System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools
•Application of security settings and other commercial security best practices
•Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining virtual and cloud environments
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
•Required Clearance: The individual selected for this position must successfully complete a security investigation by the government.

Desired Skills:
•MCSE certification
•ITIL training and/or certification
•Past experience with the Department of Justice
•DOJ or DOD Active Clearance
•Network knowledge and experience
•Exposure to SQL and Oracle and database concepts and installations
•ITSM knowledge and experience, particularly with ServiceNow
