W2 with full benefits
Will provide analysis and research to support the RF/microwave characterization of materials used in solar panel from 100 kHz to 200 MHz. In addition to a thorough material research, this work includes the design of a simple test setup to extract the relative complex permitivity/conductivity of test coupon samples at ambient and possibly cryogenic temperature. The goal is to implement the extracted electrical parameters of materials in High Frequency software to provide an accurate RF/microwave model of the solar panel in the frequency band of interest. This work will require interaction with other subject matter expert from different field such as materials and process, radiation and environmental engineers

•Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
•Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 6 years of related experience; Masters degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
•Advanced knowledge in one or more of the following areas: design, analysis, and test of antenna and passive microwave component design using CAE modeling tools such as HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, Ansoft Designer, GRASP and FEKO.
•Advanced knowledge and experience programming in relevant languages such as MATLAB, FORTRAN, Visual Basic, C/C++, and LabView.
•Extensive understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques of materials electrical characterization, including practical experience performing the extraction of electrical properties (complex permittivity/conductivity) of different substrate. Experience with RF/microwave analysis and modeling software for antenna and microwave component design and optimization, and with test equipment such as network/impedance analyzers, LCR meters.
•Advanced knowledge of applicable Laboratory policies and procedures, NASA policies and procedures, and government regulations.
•Ph.D in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with 2 years of experience or equivalent. Desire motivated individual with interest in the electrical characterization of materials for antennas and other advanced sensor. We seek an individual who can learn new concepts, think creatively and exercise sound engineering judgment to develop practical and innovative solutions to challenging space flight antenna design problems.
•Demonstrated ability to interface with other subject matter experts and explain test and analysis results.
