Job Description:
•Work with staff on assignments associated with utilizing biotechnology to improve and provide healthcare systems and devices.
•Analyze, modify, plan, install, evaluate, certify and correct system malfunctions on medi-cal systems; service medical equipment such as patient ventilators, dialysis, defibrillators and physiologic monitoring.
•Complete unscheduled service orders for equipment to include calibration, electronic and mechanical repairs.
•Complete and document all quarterly life support equipment maintenance requirements in the NIH Clinical Center (CC).
•Complete and document quarterly preventative maintenance on biomedical equipment.
•Maintain, repair, modify, fabricate, install and test electronic and mechanical components supporting NIH CC research.
•Use IT and engineering principles to interface between patient information systems and medical equipment designed to support diagnostic, monitoring, care, treatment and life support of patients.
•Manage the control and accountability of clinical and other in-scope related computerized equipment, using Biomedical Management software system.
•Collaborate with researchers on system interfaces and design between multiple medical equipment manufacturers and where commercial equipment is unavailable or unaccepta-ble.
•Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for drafting parts or products; consult with NIH re-searchers and engineers on the application of instrumentation.
•Participate in workgroups, projects and quality teams.
•Provide in-services for staff, interns, students and support personnel.

Required Skills:
•Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
•Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
•Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the engineering field.
•Broad professional knowledge of, and skill in applying, a wide range of biomedical engi-neering theories, concepts, principles, standards and methods sufficient to determine and/or execute actions for a wide range of assignments.
•Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
•Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
