Job Description:
Performs Calibrations for precision flight and ground test equipment including mechanical, dimensional and gas analyzers. Typical Functions include using computerized equipment and software to preform calibrations, test equipment functions and prepare reports. Performs maintenance on experimental or test equipment


Required Skills:
•Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
•Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
•Driving (a government issued vehicle) is required for this position.  Must have a valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record and successfully pass a DMV check.
•AA degree in Mechanics, Electronics or Metrology with 1 year of related required experience or high school diploma with 6 years of related required experience.
•Experience in calibration of Mechanical, dimensional test equipment or gas analyzers.
•Must have detailed understanding of calibration system requirements per, ANSI/NCSL Z540.1, and or ISO17025, or a strong willingness to learn.
•Must be capable of using computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and to prepare reports.
•Must demonstrate flexibility in handling work assignments.
•Ability to lift 40 lbs. of test devices daily.
•Ability to work in a team environment

Desired Skills:
•Perform calibrations of precision measuring test equipment in lab and provide on-site support to JPL's measurement test equipment.
•Knowledge of optical/laser or mechanical instrument.
•Assures test standards devices within the Laboratory are calibrated & being maintained to uphold the integrity of certifications.
•Knowledge of mechanical measurements & technique
•Ensures accuracy of dimensional, Micrometers, Calipers, Thread Plug Gages, Laser Micrometer, Thickness Gages & Roughness-Profilometer, and Mechanical measurement.
•Maintain tests, calibrates, and certifies JPL working standards for use in the calibration and certification of test equipment.
•Initiates technical reports utilizing existing procedures, schematics, documents, and specifications to provide technical data to engineering staff for measurement system studies as requested.
•Must stay abreast of metrology aspects by learning new instructions, procedures, and equipment operations.
•Performs work with a high degree of accuracy in all phases of duties under general supervision.
