Job Description:
Will be a member of the Defense & Commercial Programs Systems Engineering Group (312H) in the Project Systems Engineering & Formulation Section (312). Will report administratively to the Technical Group Supervisor and report programmatically to the Project Systems Engineer. Will be responsible for the development of project system engineering products and participation in program-level engineering trades. Tasks will be focused on performing project systems engineering functions, such as requirements management, interface definitions, systems engineering analyses and assessments, verification and validation, as well as other technical disciplines. Will interact with other teams to develop and apply systems engineering policies, practices, requirements, plans, and schedules. Work will be done across a spectrum of disciplines on tasks with government and non-government agencies.


Required Skills:
•Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance based upon Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within a 5 year scope and must be approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses.
•Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 3 years of related experience; Master’s degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 1 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines.
•Understanding and application of principles, theories, concepts, and techniques used in system engineering. Recent demonstrated experience in requirements development, management, and verification, with an emphasis on scripting in the DOORS environment, for a project implementation.
•Must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently and in a team environment. Requires occasional availability for domestic travel.
•Requires excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Desired Skills:
•Experience in all phases of the design, development, system integration, test and operation of spacecraft and/or scientific payloads.
•Excellent problem solving skills. Proven ability to deal with multiple issues, tasks, and priorities concurrently.
•Significant understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in project systems engineering and concepts in systems engineering in space missions, resulting in contributions to the development of new theories and methods.
•Experience with functional requirement development and translation into system / subsystem / architecture, design, and implementation.
•Experience with development and delivery of system documentation, such as requirements documents, test plans, and release description documents.
•Proven ability to interact effectively across multiple disciplines with government and non-government agencies.
