Job Description:
As an Engineering Development Technician in the Electrochemical Technologies Group, you will be responsible for:
•Wiring battery cells and battery packs for testing
•Fabricating cell test fixtures
•Building custom parts
•Maintaining wet chemistry and materials processing labs
•Monitoring inert atmosphere glove box levels
•Regenerating and repairing inert atmosphere glove boxes
•Monitoring glovebox argon supply; ordering dewars and replacing when low
•Monitoring and maintaining glovebox vacuum pumps
•Replacing the catalyst in inert atmosphere glove boxes when necessary
•Performing basic machine shop operations
•Performing ad-hoc mechanical maintenance of critical group equipment Supporting the battery lab manager in battery and cell testing for both R&D and flight projects (such as starting/monitoring/suspending tests) and in the maintenance and upkeep of the battery test lab

Required Skills:
•Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
•Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
•Typically requires a High School diploma with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; Associates degree with a minimum of 1 year of work experience and related required training.
•Mechanical assembly skills.
•Solid knowledge and experience with electronic test equipment and tools, electronic troubleshooting and repair, fabrication of custom parts, and machine shop operations.
•Experience with machine tools including a drill press and mill.
•Experience reading electrical and mechanical drawings.
•Basic computer skills such as e-mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
•Ability to stay organized and focused while working with multiple projects and tasks with a moderate to broad scope, and interface with customers in a dynamic environment.
•Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
•Good interpersonal and communication skills.
•Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, necessary to work with miniaturized systems or components.

Desired Skills:
•Experience in maintaining equipment in a battery test lab and in a wet chemistry lab.
