Job Description:
Will be a member of the Defense and Commercial Programs Systems Engineering Group (312H) in the Project Systems Engineering and Formulation Section. Will be a Systems Engineer in the End-to-End Information Systems (EEIS) Engineering Team responsible for leading, managing, and coordinating requirements, design, interfaces, and verification and validation (V&V) activities of system-level requirements. Will support the EEIS lead in management of risks, conducting trade studies, documenting design decisions, verifying interfaces, and providing insight/oversight for V&V of system requirements. Will generate and analyze concepts of operation from an EEIS perspective to validate compliance with requirements, design, and operations. Will manage, conduct, and document the verification testing of end-to-end system requirements. Will colead
multidisciplinary and multi-organizational working groups across government and non-government agencies on EEIS matters and will document decisions and results. Will generate and present milestone review materials, including inputs to Program-level schedules. Will interact with other
teams to develop and apply systems engineering policies, practices, requirements, plans, and schedules. Will serve in a review capacity across the project to assess the quality of the design, risks to achieving required performance, identifying potential problems, and recommending correction action and/or improvements.

Required Skills:
•The candidate must be a citizen of the United States of America
•Candidate must have a minimum of a Top Secret/SCI clearance
•A United States Government administered polygraph examination will be given to the selected candidate; he/she must pass it to maintain employment in this position
•Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance based upon Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within a 5 year scope and must be approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses.
•Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 9 years of related experience; Master’s degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 5 years related experience.
Wide-ranging experience and advanced knowledge in one or more of the following areas: systems engineering of space and ground networks, space mission information systems, spacecraft communication systems.
•Extensive understanding and wide application of advanced principles, concepts, and techniques used in system engineering of space and ground networks and space information systems. •Extensive knowledge of industry and/or academic practices and standards across a range of applications related to the operation of space information systems, space/ground networks, space mission operations, and non-NASA missions.
•Proven ability to lead the activities of, and to synthesize the unique discipline knowledge of, a broad range of technical subject matter experts.
•Must have recent systems engineering experience and significant knowledge and experience in system-level verification and validation, integration and test, ground systems, and the function of spacecraft subsystems and instruments.
•Must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently and in a team environment. •Requires occasional availability for domestic travel. Must have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

•Experience in all phases of the design, development, system integration, test and operation of spacecraft and/or scientific payloads.

•Experience with space telecommunication systems using CCSDS.
•Experience with model-based systems engineering, including the use of SysML tools such as MagicDraw.
