Customer and contract specific training will be required and provided.
Will be an Cable/Harness Engineer for the Simulation and Support Equipment Group develop cable/harness schematics and drawings that will be used for specifying the fabrication of custom electrical ground support equipment cabling for the Europa Clipper and Psyche projects.
This position will work on team that is responsible for design and development of cables that will carry both data and power from the electrical ground support equipment to the unit under test. The position is expected to have knowledge the constraints in developing cabling that includes high-speed
serial data communication.

•Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 4 years of related experience; Master's degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
•Wide-ranging experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
-Develop requirements including verification & validation methods at the harness subsystem level.
-Architect harness design to meet project and technical requirements.
-Prepare and release drawings to fabricate and integrate harnesses.
•Extensive knowledge of industry and/or academic practices and standards across a range of applications related to Electrical connectors and wire for spaceflight applications, including Mil-Aerospace standards such as MIL-DTL-26482, MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-24308, MIL-DTL-83513 and MILSTD-1553.
-Demonstrated capability of working in a team environment with other subsystems.
-Demonstrated responsibilities in owning a task from early design through product delivery.
•Technical expertise in capabilities, selection and qualification of components used in flight spacecraft cable harness designs. Components include connectors, backshells, wire, contacts, splices, solder, overshields, terminal lugs and coax products.
•Detailed and hands?on based knowledge of fabrication processes and workmanship criteria for flight and ground support harness in accordance with JPL D?8208, NASA 8739.4 and SAE AS50881, IPC/WHMA-A-620A.
•Oversee sub-contracted harness work with assembling/fabrication vendors
•Support cable integration and testing.
•Familiarity with software tools such as Altium , Autocad, MS Visio
