Job Description:
Will be a member of the Instrument Operations Engineering Group (398D) and will report to the Technical Group Supervisor.
• Assist the Mission Operations Systems Engineer (MOSE) for Sentinel 6, reporting programmatically to the Mission Systems Engineering (MSE) Lead and administratively to the Instrument Operations Engineering Group Supervisor.
• Support development and implementation of JPL portion of Sentinel-6 mission, including V&V activities.
• Support design, development, and implementation of JPL operations support center, leveraging the multi-mission architecture for altimetry missions.
• Develop and script operations procedures for the instrument(s).
• Adapt existing monitoring tools for displaying and analyzing instrument and spacecraft telemetry.
• Support development of instrument telemetry alarms
• Develop monitoring tools for detecting SEUs.
• Develop derived data algorithms to track data values and load back into ElasticSearch tool.

Required Skills :
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Experience and knowledge in flight project ground and operations systems and products.
• Demonstrated experience in developing procedures and coding procedure scripts, preferably in Python.
• Experience in configuring operations tools such as telemetry displays, alarm definitions, duty roster
• Experience in developing instrument/spacecraft monitoring tools
• Knowledge of telemetry interpretation.
• Can work with VISTA, RAVEN, and AMPCS.

Desired Skills :
• Experience in operating an instrument as a payload on a non-JPL platform (e.g. ISS or foreign spacecraft).
• Experience developing operations for and/or operating a space mission or instrument payload.
• Experience in working closely with instrument and/or science teams to analyze data and recommend/implement changes to improve processes and data products.
• Experience in instrument post-launch activation, commanding, and/or routine monitoring.
• Experience developing operations concepts, processes, and timelines.
• Experience working with science teams responsible for flight instruments.
