Job Description:
This position is for the test engineer for the Ka-band Interferometric (KaRIn) instrument. The primary role for this position will be to support radar instrument integration and test, specifically; anything required for test preparation, setup, execution, and documentation related to radar hardware testing and support equipment operation. This includes writing engineering documents such as test procedures and instructions for build/assembly, and test of flight hardware to be integrated. Hands-on involvement is expected in the operation of ground support equipment, e.g. maintaining calibration of custom ground support equipment, especially RF components and circuit assemblies, and other tasks as needed. Knowledge and application of industry practices and standards in drawing and documentation releases as well as experience working with quality assurance teams is a plus. This position will report to the KaRIn integration and test lead.

Required Skills:
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Driving (a government issued vehicle) is required for this position.  Must have a valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record and successfully pass a DMV check.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of related experience or Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience
• Has fundamental understanding of RF engineering, RF system design, and RF testing
• Proficient in RF test equipment operation
• Experience in test development, test procedures, and writing test reports
• Experience in writing and debugging test scripts
• Has prior experience in troubleshooting test equipment and electrical circuit interfaces and functions

Desired Skills:
• Experience in handling, integrating, and testing of space flight hardware
• Prior knowledge of Ka-band RF test equipment operation
• Familiarity with LabView programming and/or scripting language, LuaView
• Current knowledge of latest test equipment, software, data archiving, trends, & approaches to radar testing.
• Knowledge and application of industry practices and standards in drawing and documentation releases as well as experience working with quality assurance teams is a plus
• Having had ESD, cleanroom and any other lab certification in the past
