Job Description:
We seek a self-motivated individual who can work well both independently and in a team environment to serve as a Task Lead for SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) Engineering Tools and Processes. Reporting functionally to the Engineering Tools and Data Management Group Supervisor and programmatically to the Project Manager, Engineering Tools and Services (CAE and SSAs), you will be responsible for implementation and oversight of the engineering tool platforms including both COTS and internally developed tools in the SCIF.

Tasks include:
• Ensure the engineering tooling/processes in the SCIF is aligned and integrated with JPL-wide strategies.
• Ensure SCIF internally developed, self-service applications (SSAs) meet institutional process requirements.
• Provide oversight of and interface with SCIF CAE IT team to ensure customers have appropriate access and IT support for tools.
• Provide oversight of the development of SCIF SSAs and interface with IT team developing the SSAs.
• Provide insight to the Project Manager, Engineering Tools and Services, regarding engineering tool development and deployment in the SCIF.
• Provide input to Project Manager, Engineering Tools and Services, on new SCIF engineering tool and upgrade requests based on evaluation of need, functionality, cost, existing tool capabilities, etc.
• Collaborate with the low side CAE/SSA engineering tool and process leads to achieve strategic objectives of CAE project (e.g., integrating tools, best practices, etc.), as it applies to the SCIF work.
• Work with vendors on tool problems/improvements/training needs/demos.
• Communicate CAE/SSA strategies and plans to the SCIF management and customers.
• Collaborate with SCIF IT Staff to document and implement best practices for SCIF CAE/SSA tools.
• Capture documentation of SCIF CAE/SSA tool requests, information gathering and decisions via JIRA system.

Required Skills:
• The candidate must be a citizen of the United States of America
• Candidate must have a minimum of a Top Secret/SCI clearance
• A United States Government administered polygraph examination will be given to the selected candidate; he/she must pass it to maintain employment in this position
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; Master’s degree in similar disciplines with a minimum 4 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
• Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Software CAD and CAE tools and processes.
• Extensive understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively capturing and transferring technical and functional information at all JPL Levels.
• Ability to conduct product demos, user workshops, training, and user acceptance testing.
• Ability to manage vendor relationships including licensing discussions and aligning vendor roadmaps based on institutional needs.
• Excellent leadership skills, capable of guiding, synergizing, and training a team of IT personnel.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance based upon Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within a 5 year scope and must be approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses.

Desired Skills :
• Familiarity with ECAD tools including Mentor Capital.
• Experience with CAE design, simulation and analysis tools such as NX, Simcenter, Femap, NASTRAN, and Ansys.
• Experience with data management tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, NoMagic TeamWork Server, and JIRA.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory.
• Familiarity with systems engineering tools such as MagicDraw and STK.
