Job Description:
The selected candidate will be a member of the Instrument Electronics Support Engineering group. In this position, you will be responsible for generating board assembly and build instructions, test plans and procedures, and test instructions. You will also conduct testing of prototypes, engineering, and flight electronics boards. You will assist with managing the manufacturing of electronics board assemblies and cabling in-house or outside vendors. You will interface with internal team members as well as with members of other groups such as parts’ procurement and engineering team, Quality Assurance team and the electronics fabrication team.

Required Skills:
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 6 years of related experience; or Masters in similar disciplines with typically 4 years of related experience.
• Ability to understand testing requirements and experience preparing test procedures based on those requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask across disciplines.
• Ability to keep tasks on cost and schedule.
• Proficient in the use of Altium Designer schematics capture and PCB layout design software tools.
• Perform printed circuit board layout of highly complex digital and/or analog circuits based on guidelines provided by electronics engineers.
• Ability to understand testing requirements, prepare test procedures, and test Instructions.
• Partners with other engineers in test and verification of complex circuits or FPGAs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Familiarity with:
o Mission Assurance requirements.
o Work Orders and ability to manage contracts.
o Manufacturing and Fabrication process within JPL for Flight Assemblies.
o Electronics board layout.
o JPL tools including (but not limited to) IBT, EPDM, QARS, IBAT.
• Understanding of Parts classification and pedigree.
• Experience performing electronics testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with Altium to review or modify drawings.
• Experience reviewing assembly under Microscope.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience working in an ESD safe environment.
• Understanding of electronics circuit design and test.
• Ability to generate required documentation of engineering requirements, progress, and test results.

Desired Skills:
• Prior experience with other major flight projects.
• Knowledge of Python
