Job Description:
Tasks may include design support, planning, and fabrication of flight tube assemblies and for a heat redistribution system (HRS); support of thermal design and analysis; coordination of thermal hardware procurement, logistics, and delivery. Supporting thermal cognizant engineer or lead.

Required Skills:
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Bachelor's degree with six years of related experience (mechanical engineering or similar with thermal fluids focus), Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (thermal fluid systems focus) or related technical discipline with a minimum of four years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of two years related experience
• Extensive thermal systems expertise in thermal design, analysis, hardware, integration, test, and operations of spacecraft, engineering subsystems, science instruments or other major flight system elements (rovers, landers, etc.)
• Experience leading thermal teams across the entire project lifecycle both technically and programmatically (budget, schedule, work agreement, and identification of receivable/deliverables)
• Proven capability to develop conceptual thermal designs, perform trade studies, and deselect to a design baseline
• Skills to establish thermal requirements and interfaces with project partners inside and outside of JPL
• Capability to identify creative designs within available project resources to meet requirements without appreciable line management oversight
• Proposal experience to secure new business in the flight project and/or technology developments worlds
• Thermal software experience (Thermal Desktop and/or NX Space Systems Thermal) and mechanical CAD (AutoCAD and/or NX)
• Thorough knowledge of industry thermal practices
• Demonstrated capability of task ownership and commitment to working extra hours to meet key milestones
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
