Job Description:
The ATL supports investigations for JPL and thus other unique and custom space application items may be delivered for urgent troubleshooting including complex cabling, connectors and unique mechanical assemblies. This position is part of a team that designs tests and methods to locate, reproduce, identify, and analyze complex part failures. This is a “hands-on” position that will require a majority of time spent in the lab, and may require some time worked outside of scheduled work hours.
• Performs CT X-Ray, Realtime X-ray, Hermeticity, PIND (Particle Induced Noise Detection), DPA (Destructive Physical Analysis) per MIL spec standards
• Additional opportunities to learn monitoring of environmental chambers, and to help in other areas needing electrical testing, cross sectioning and use of scanning electron microscopes.
• Prepares result summaries and aids in interpretation
• Ensures equipment is operating properly and all required documentation is completed

Required Skills:
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
- Driving (a government issued vehicle) is required for this position. Must have a valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record and successfully pass a DMV check.
- Typically requires an Associate’s degree in Electronics, Microscopy or other Materials Science/Engineering or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Hands on experience performing realtime X-ray, Hermeticity, PIND (Particle Induced Noise Detection), DPA (Destructive Physical Analysis) per MIL spec standards.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Desired Skills:
• Realtime or CT X-Ray experience with an NDE certification (Level 1-3)
• Experience with Aerospace / Military components
• Experience with North Star Imaging’s CT systems
