Job Description:
The Columbus Engineering Innovation Center (EIC) is a research, prototyping, training and “flat-sat” proof-of-concept facility that enables the development and demonstration of cutting-edge technologies in the fields of hybrid embedded processing, artificial intelligence & machine learning, mechanism & robotic controls, and Core Flight Software (CFS) & multi-core processing technologies for Space Flight and Ground applications. The EIC’s state-of-the-art laboratory resources can be leveraged by Columbus customers, industry/university partners and employees to facilitate the development and infusion of innovative technologies into a wide variety of customer Engineering, Science, and Mission applications.

• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Working toward a Bachelors or Post Grad
• Columbus Technologies is looking for interns with a focus on embedded systems and/or machine learning to join our "Engineering  Innovation Center" R&D team in Greenbelt MD, during Summer 2020. The individual(s) chosen for this position should have experience with Xilinx FPGAs, multi-core CPUs and/or NVIDIA GPUs, and research interests in next-gen embedded processing for space flight and ground data processing applications. Student proposed independent research projects could also be worked in the lab if they align with the general goals of developing cutting edge capabilities for future space missions. Columbus supports a number of activities at NASA Goddard, JPL, and other government agencies.
