Job Description:
Will be the Technology Demonstration System Lead and report administratively to the group supervisor of the Mission System Leadership Group (394A) in the Mission Systems Engineering Section and programmatically to the Mission Systems Manager (MSM). Coordinates with the Mission
Systems Manager in performing the following:
• Will be the primary JPL liaison to the customer during technology demonstration at the customer site
• Will lead operations readiness activities required for successful JPL technology demonstration
• Will lead the JPL operations support team at the customer site during early demonstration phases
• Will be responsible for managing JPL team performance at the customer site during extended deployment
• Will Lead V&V of mission-scenario based testing at the customer site
• Will oversee critical event preparation campaigns; collaborate with science team; and interface with JPL and customer program management
• Will support project cost exercises and annual planning exercises working with project management and business team personnel
• Will manage the operations technical interface and oversee subcontractor operations performance
• Will work closely with Payload Subject Matter Experts (SME), Program Scientist and customer Mission System Leadership to meet program success objectives

Required Skills:
• The candidate must be a citizen of the United States of America
• Candidate must have a minimum of a Top Secret/SCI clearance
• A United States Government administered polygraph examination will be given to the selected candidate; he/she must pass it to maintain employment in this position
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 9 years of related experience; Master's degree  in similar disciplines with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 5 years related experience.
• Proven expertise in Mission Systems and Operations for DoD type programs.
• Multidisciplinary and in-depth expertise regularly used in the application and development of advanced principles, theories and concepts in the operations of spacecraft.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct, manage and complete technically and organizationally complex trades involving mission science returns, mission design and risk.
• Demonstrated team leadership skills, excellent communications skills including the ability to write and review technical operations documentation, and to productively interface with all levels of institutional and operations management.
• Demonstrated understanding of complex ground systems and their use in mission operations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external program leadership, and effectively lead subcontractor teams
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance based upon Single Scope Background investigation (SBBI) within a 5-year scope and must be approved for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) accesses

Desired Skills:
• Expert knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures, DoD policies and procedures, and government regulations across a range of applications.
• Experience negotiating resources and schedules with multi-organizational teams during mission operations.
• Proven ability to meet commitments to produce high quality products within budget through prioritization and team management.
• Extensive system engineering experience at the system and/or subsystem levels. Multi discipline technical knowledge relating to mission and spacecraft design and operations.
• Working knowledge of JPL and DoD organizations.
• Experience working with aerospace industry.
