Job Description:
Will support the thermal fluids systems and mission operations group as a level 1 engineer primarily working on the Europa Clipper heat redistribution
system hardware development. May also support other task requiring thermal modelling, CAD, or mission operations as required.

Required Skills:
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering (thermal focus) or related technical discipline, with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
• Experience leading mechanical integration teams.
• Proven capability to develop conceptual thermal designs, perform trade studies, and deselect to a design baseline.
• Thermal fluids engineering courses such as thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer. Advanced thermal-fluids classes desirable.
• CAD and Thermal software experience (Thermal Desktop and/or NX Space Systems Thermal preferred) and mechanical CAD (AutoCAD and/or NX)
• Demonstrated capability of task ownership and commitment to working extra hours to meet key milestones.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Experience with trouble shooting mechanical systems, integration, and directing technicians.

Desired Skills:
• Working experience in a student engineering internship programs in a mechanical, thermal and/or space engineering domain.
• Thermal systems expertise in thermal design, analysis, hardware, integration, test, and operations of spacecraft, engineering subsystems, science instruments or other major flight system elements (rovers, landers, etc.) in class or practice.
• Experience leading mechanical teams across in any phase of the project lifecycle.
• Demonstrated capability to develop conceptual thermal designs, perform trade studies, and deselect to a design baseline.
• Thermal software experience (Thermal Desktop and/or NX Space Systems Thermal) and mechanical CAD (AutoCAD and/or NX)
• Demonstrated capability of task ownership and commitment to working extra hours to meet key milestones
• Working knowledge of typical instrumentation and ground support equipment used in thermal tests and/or thermal environments across the solar system for flight system development.
• Software experience: Thermal (Thermal Desktop, TMG, TSS/SINDA and/or NX Space Systems Thermal), mechanical CAD (NX, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and/or Matlab or LabView expertise.
• Familiarity with natural and forced convection, linear conduction, radiation and numerical algorithms.
