Job Description:
Will be the MOS Verification & Validation System Engineer for the ISLAND project
Will be a member of the Mission Operations Systems Team on the ISLAND project. Will be a member of the Verification & Validation/Training Group (394E) reporting programmatically to the ISLAND Mission Manager and administratively to the 394E Technical Group Supervisor. Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance.

Will be responsible for leading, planning, development, and implementation of the MOS V&V program including:
• Generating and maintaining MOS V&V Plans
• Monitoring adherence to the V&V Plan and assessing lower level and contractor plans for completeness and adherence to MOS V&V requirements
• Responsible for driving and integrating the V&V activities throughout the MOS hierarchy
• Creating, maintaining, and updating the V&V Matrix for Level 3 Requirements
• Exercising V&V interfaces between the MOS and other project systems
• Designing and performing MOS tests to validate requirements including interface tests, thread tests and operations simulations and readiness tests
• Involved in testbed scenario definitions, testbed execution in support of V&V testing
• Leading MOS V&V meetings; test life cycle meetings: preparation, execution and assessment meetings; and supporting design team meetings
• Leading efforts for conducting MOS V&V Reviews and supporting ISLAND Project-level V&V
• Building and maintaining excellent technical relationships with key engineers on the project and contractor organizations
Will lead the overall MOS V&V program, specific tasks include
• Reporting status on requirement closure status and V&V activity and schedule
• Maintaining the V&V Trace Matrix to ensure that every requirement is exercised via Test, Demonstration, Inspection, or Analysis
• Planning, coordinating, and executing and evaluating MOS Tests (interface tests, thread tests, operations simulations, Operational Readiness Tests, etc.)
• Writing MOS V&V Test Procedures and Reports
• Participating in maintenance Test as you Fly Exceptions List (TAYF)

Required Skills:
• The candidate must be a citizen of the United States of America
• Candidate must have a minimum of a Top Secret/SCI clearance
• A United States Government administered polygraph examination will be given to the selected candidate; he/she must pass it to maintain employment in this position
• Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen

• Must be willing to research on V&V approaches that best address the system.

Desired Skills:
• Understanding of JPL Flight Project Practices and Design Principles.
• Understanding of DoD V&V practices and processes.
• Experience with V&V of complex software systems.
