Roles and responsibilities

Must be a US Citizen
1 year contract position
W2 with full benefits
Training will be provided
Must be able to pass background check and drug screen

Required Skills:
•Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (thermal focus) or related technical discipline with a minimum of four years of related experience; or PhD
in similar disciplines with a minimum of two years related experience
•Extensive thermal systems expertise in thermal design, analysis, hardware, integration, test, and operations of spacecraft, engineering subsystems,
science instruments or other major flight system elements (rovers, landers, etc.)
•Experience leading thermal teams across the entire project lifecycle both technically and programmatically (budget, schedule, work agreement, and
identification of receivable/deliverables)
•Proven capability to develop conceptual thermal designs, perform trade studies, and deselect to a design baseline
•Skills to establish thermal requirements and interfaces with project partners inside and outside of JPL
•Capability to identify creative designs within available project resources to meet requirements without appreciable line management oversight
•Proposal experience to secure new business in the flight project and/or technology developments worlds
•Thermal software experience (Thermal Desktop and/or NX Space Systems Thermal) and mechanical CAD (AutoCAD and/or NX)
•Thorough knowledge of industry thermal practices
•Demonstrated capability of task ownership and commitment to working extra hours to meet key milestones
•Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
