Job Description:
o Perform daily system monitoring; verify the integrity and availability of all hard-ware, server resources, systems and key processes; review system and application logs; verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
o Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
o Repair and recover from hardware or software failures; coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
o Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrade administrative tools and utilities; configure / add new services as necessary.
o Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization; configure CPU, memory and disk partitions.
o Perform cabling and connectivity duties in the server room.
o Perform Active Directory maintenance and management.
o Maintain user accounts.
o Install and configure new hardware.
o Manage ePO server.
o Provide on-call support on a rotational basis for NIMH technical infrastructure.
o Act as primary Information Resource and Technology Management Branch (IRTMB) network liaison with Center for Information Technology network ser-vices (CIT/DNST).
o Work with CIT/DNST on trouble shooting network problems with NIMH net-worked assets.
o Provide network expertise and support to the NIMH technical staff community; ensure that research and administrative work are carried out without interruption.
o Provide input on the day-to-day operations as well as the long term goals.

Required Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Sciences or a related discipline; four (4) years of specialized experience plus a high school diploma is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
•Minimum of five (5) years of related experience as a Windows System Administrator, preferably with a MSCE certification for Windows 2008 or higher.
•Broad expertise in the specification, evaluation, installation, configuration and management of networked computing facilities.
•Knowledge of most aspects of operating system administration including system installation and configuration, configuration of web and database servers, mail systems, fundamentals of security, installing third party software.
•Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
•Independent problem-solving, self-direction, ability to solve problems quickly and auto-mate processes.
•Experience administering production-grade Windows 2008/2012 systems running IIS with multiple share domains in a 24X7 data center environment.
•Experience administrating production-grade Windows 2008/2012 systems running MS SQL Server in a multi-user environment.
•Experience administrating and supporting Redhat Linux in a Jboss application server and/or Oracle RDBMS environment.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to train support technicians in com-plex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with staff.
•Broad knowledge of PC and MAC hardware and their operating systems.
•Experience with Commvault (backup and recovery) or comparable Enterprise Backup Application; knowledge of the principle of enterprise level backup and recovery process.
•Experience/knowledge of the principal of NAS/SANs concepts (NetApp, Nimble, Com-pellent, Exagrid)
•Experience/knowledge of principal of virtualization (VMWare in particular).
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
