Job Description:
The Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) Librarian is responsible for development, management, governance, and maintenance of ECAD shared parts library.
As a member of the Engineering Administrative Office (EAO) reporting to the Group Supervisor of Engineering Tools and Data Management (3015), this position will be a key contributor to the Continuous Engineering Improvement/Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Project, focused on Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) libraries in Siemens Teamcenter. Responsibilities include: 
• Define, implement, and verify the governance, process, and standards for the JPL ECAD library. 
• Works closely with Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Component Engineers, and Process Engineers to create schematic symbols and PCB component footprints. 
• Publish library parts to the global ECAD library within established JPL standards for use by the Design Engineers across the Organization. 
• Process library requests for new parts and analyze/modify existing library parts for improved readability of the schematic or manufacturability of the component footprint. 
• Verify and validate schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts created by other librarians for accuracy and compliance with JPL standards. 
• Participate in the usability, testing, and validation of the library change control system and process. 
• Assist with user support of the tools and processes used for the library change control system.

Required Skills:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; Master’s degree in similar disciplines with a minimum 4 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
• Extensive experience with Siemens Teamcenter UA v10. 
• Proficiency with ECAD tools such as Altium and MentorGraphics. 
• Proven ability to work efficiently, effectively manage time-lines and expectations, and produce high-quality deliverables. 
• Experience reviewing processes to ensure they are efficient and consistently reproduced over and over again. 
• Ability to articulate solution ideas with clarity; excellent communication and presentation skills. 
• Ability to effectively redesign existing engineering systems to improve operational/business efficiency. 
• Ability to interpret Manufacturer Data Sheets. 
• Extensive knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes. 

Desired Skills:
• Experience with Electrical CAD tools, Model-based Engineering, Electrical Analysis tools. 
• Strong understanding of configuration control and change management. 
• Strong knowledge of major business processes and process re-engineering.
