Roles and responsibilities

Embedded Software Engineer
AeroVironment Simi Valley, CA, US 
W-2 contract position with full benefits 
Must be US Citizen or US Permanent resident 
Duration- 5-6 month contract (potential for longer term)

Job Description:
·Generating system requirements as well as developing and analyzing the detailed software requirements. 
·Develop system level software architecture and create software high level design documents.
·Code, simulate, integrate and validate software.
·Develop simulation and interfacing methodology for the testing software.
·Responsible for one or more software development teams.
·Will work closely with multiple teams of software developers supporting R & D programs.
·Participate is software design reviews.

Required Skills:
·BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
·Experience in real-time / embedded application software is required
·Experience C++. Object Oriented Design is required
·OpenCV/OpenGL a plus
·Basic electronics knowledge and use of lab equipment is required.
·Expert in software lifecycle development including defining and documenting requirements, object oriented software architecture and design, programming and testing, and source code configuration management.
·Technical knowledge and experience with the following are desired; Serial communications, Network communications, CAN communication, GPRS, Bluetooth, TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, image processing.
·Strong analytical skills.
·Windows programming a plus.
·Eclipse & GCC/GDB  or VisualGDB desired
·Familiarity with Keil, Visual Studio, and CCS a plus.
·Familiarity with iMX6 processor is a plus 
·Familiarity with Linux embedded programming is a plus
·Familiarity ARM processors a plus.
·Familiarity with SVN configuration management tools a plus.
·Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.  Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings.
·A willingness to travel, on occasion.
