Job Description:
Do you have a passion for organizing unique historical information? Are you eager to learn more about the past history of robotic space flight? Are you ready to apply your training or experience at an amazing environment? Then this temporary, full time archival position is for you! We are looking for an energetic information specialist to inventory, process, and describe archival photo images and documents.

Required Skills:
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent applicable work experience in the fields of Information Science or Services, Archives Studies, Library Science, Art Preservation, Photographic Restoration or Digital Processing.
- Proficient with basic computer office software (word processing, spreadsheets).
- Understanding of basic preservation and conservation standards for archival collections.
- Familiar with cataloging archival documents and images.
- Experience or knowledge of film preservation best practices.
- Meticulous attention to detail and capable of working in an environment that includes focused and repetitive tasks.
- Experience or knowledge in metadata creation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Comfortable with reading and analyzing technical documents.
- Ability to lift 15 or more pounds and ability to move large items.

Desired Skills:
Any of the following are a plus!
- Proficient with image and document scanning/editing software/hardware; and handling TIF, JPG, GIF, PDF, and PDF-A file formats.
- Familiar with accessioning and processing archival records.
- Familiar with creation of archival finding aids.
- Experience or knowledge about digital repositories, digital asset management systems.
- Experience with handling photographic film.
- Experience digitizing images and documents and/or managing digitized assets.
- Degree or significant experience in a Science, Technology, or Engineering discipline.
